time for the city dance

i'm heading off to the big city tomorrow for two whole weeks! i'm excited for a little overstimulation. i'll be doing summer camp with WYP during the day, relaxing by night, and hopefully no where near a computer the entire time.

"what do y'all do out there?"

here's a collection of photos i took last week when we all came together around 5 in the evening to put in the concrete foundation for our propane tanks to rest on. madness.

serious:

and not so serious (the photo at right is a little off because i'm in the process of getting sprayed with the hose, or so i think):
and here's cindy working... it's got nothing to do with cement pouring, but it's just too cute to leave out:

"you're my obsession..." (think 80's tune... from the decade that being possessive and creepy was hip!)

here's a little glimpse at what's happening in these parts. i'm learning heaps about the healing effects of having one's hands in the earth. (all the babies: gourds, carrots, lettuce, beans, spinach, the nursery. and my pride and joy: the greens bed!)

and the blackbirds have started hanging out in the juniper right by main camp. it gives a little more relevance to my learning "Blackbird" by the Beatles. the sounds here are as dynamic as the weather and the plants: wind to frogs to kingbirds to generators and powertools to, of course, silence. and now blackbirds.
